The Stockholm County Association of Local Authorities (KSL) is an organisation binding together the 26 municipalities of the Stockholm County. KSL initiates innovative development, carries out lobby work towards different actors and creates regional knowledge by being a platform for the municipalities and thus creating opportunities for cooperation.
Moreover, KSL supports and develops municipal autonomy, safeguards municipal interests and promote cooperation between municipalities.
KSL is a politically run organisation. Politicians from the 26 municipalities are appointed to be represented in the KSL General Assembly, the highest decision-making body. One General Assembly per mandate period is held following general elections. The General Assembly appoints the Board of directors, accountants and the election committee.
KSL works with issues such as education, health and social services, environment and sustainable public infrastructure. The organisation is also responsible for handling coordination of the EU structural funds on the county's behalf.
