6 December 2005: The Stockholm Region Nobel Evening
Stockholm Region gives a tribute to innovative thinkers and emphasizes the
importance of innovation in regional development and on regional cooperation at the Brussels arena by arranging a Nobel Evening. The invitations are personal and has been send out.

Stockholm Region in partnership with the regions of Barcelona, Bretagne Pays de la Loire, Riga City and Region, Veneto and Wales has been chosen for the third time to participate in the Open Days event. The name of the event is "5 seas 1 future".
The Opens Days initiative was launched by the Committee of the Regions as a further step of "bringing the EU closer to the people" and encouraging cities and regions to become more "Europe conscious". The Open Days includes a complete programme of conferences, exhibitions and workshops.
In a rolling programme of activities, designed to highlight the added value of their regions and cities within Europe, each office will open its doors for 3 days to welcome visitors from the European Parliament, regional and local authorities, journalists, representatives from companies and civil society organisations. In addition to presentations of innovative best practice that are unique to each city and region, and more general introductions to the activities of each office, Capital Cities/Regions will place particular focus to the themes of the regional competitiveness and employment.
