Dear reader,
A new exciting year in Brussels has just started! In the light of Europe facing a new Lisbon treaty, European Commission and European Parliament, this year will be filled with even more interesting opportunites and activities related to our organisation.
Even within Stockholm Region some changes are expected during this year. After 15 years of activities, it comes natural that Stockholm Region now reviews its work and sets strategies for the future. During this time I will lead the organisation until June, when the new Managing Director will be appointed.
At the same time I would like to highlight that Stockholm is the first European city to receive the label of Green Capital from the European Commission. The award is recognition of the City of Stockholm's strong engagement in environment issues since many years. Stockholm Region will arrange two events within the frames of Green Capital 2010 in close cooperation with the European commission and the City of Stockholm.
